MBSR is a program that teaches the principles and practice of mindfulness to counteract stress, helping us to live a richer and more fulfilling life. The MBSR program was developed in 1979 by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Center for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts Medical School. Since then, it has enabled thousands of people to cope more effectively with stress, anxiety, pain and illness. MBSR teaches you how to become more aware, moment by moment, of the physical and psychological factors that affect your wellbeing. It achieves this by teaching easy-to-use mindfulness tools, including meditative practices, simple yoga and physical movements, and personal awareness exercises. Nearly three decades of published research indicates that people benefit from the program.
With practice, these tools will enable you to make more skillful choices, enjoy a richer day-to-day life and develop a stronger sense of well-being, self-mastery, self-care and self-responsibility. The program consists of 30 hours over 8 weekly sessions, plus one full day of instruction, sharing and practice.
-Guided instruction in mindfulness practices
-Gentle stretching and mindful yoga
-Group diaIogue and mindful communication exercises to enhance awareness in everyday life
-Individually tailored instruction

A Certificate of Completion for the course is issued upon request and subject to completion of the All Day Retreat and at least 7 of the other 8 sessions. If sessions are missed they may be made-up within 12 months of completion of the course, at a time and place mutually agreed with the trainer.
